Hi hope someone might help. My Mother won a tv in a game of bingo at gala bingo. The tv has not been used and was installed yesterday and was Faulty straight away. It's a grundig lcd 37 inch. I know it's not a very good brand but i would expect to last longer.
My mother reported the fault to gala who said they had no more tv's and as they only Purchased the tv for £100 That what they would refund in Vouchers, and there supplier had gone bump.
My mom can not get another 37inch tv for a £100 so does anyone have any suggestions as it was won as a prize and they never gave her a warranty.

Define faulty.
I'd take the money and save up for another TV.That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
Well Faulty as it turns itself straight off.0

Hang on am I missing something here?
They paid £100 for a new or at least "unused" 37 inch lcd tv?
When you say the supplier has gone bump does that mean bust or done a runner?0 -
So they say, I was told that there supplier is no longer trading.
The info i got was they offered £100 in vouchers as that's what they paid for it.
I doubt this as i could not buy the most basic cheap tv for this. All i really want is the tv fixed or replaced for my mother to be fair.0 -
Difficult one as it depends what is causing the problem.
To be honest I can't imagine anyone getting a new 37 inch lcd tv for a £100 unless it is not new, wasn't working, possibly refurbished (even cheap then) or it fell off the back of a lorry!
It will cost you for a tv repair person to come round and have a look at the tv unless you fancy lugging it to a repair shop even then depending on the problem if new parts are required it could certainly cost more than £100 to repair.
You say there is no warranty or receipt so Gala Bingo have no proof of purchase, the supplier who they got the tv from is no longer trading?
Was the tv won online or somewhere else, if you want to pursue it you could contact their head office and put a complaint in.
