What this facebook loading thingy?

I keep seeing this down the bottom of the page when I try to load MSE forum pages. I don't have facebook, so what's it all about I'm wondering. Pages are taking about 30 seconds to load which is an eternity in internetz time lol

    I was trying to use it early and couldn't get on at all. Gave up in the end.
    The shinbone is a device for finding furniture in a dark room.

    Facebook's down at the mo, or at least extremely slow, so the app on the first post (where you can post that thread to your FB) tries to communicate with FB when you open a thread, and cant - slowing the whole thing down until it stops trying :)

    Looks like they have incorporated some facebook software into the site to me but I'm no expert. Perhaps they are looking to link up so that users can usefacebook messaging etc on the mse site.
