Cant find mot cert but sure I had one.

bought a used car in May, retaxed online in July, cant find Mot cert, sure I must have had it or how did I tax car.
I thought there was a website I could go to were by I could check that a particular car was as it seems. Or did I imagine this.
I think I put in reg number and it confirmed make, model color, mot details, tax band etc.
Any ideas.
I also have a computer emmisions print out from the garage that did the MOT which is not local to me, can I get a duplicate mot cert and how much is that going to cost me

You would not have needed the paper MOT certificate to tax the car online. The MOT and insurance status are checked electronically.

What you do need to check is that the MOT hasn't expired, of course. The site albertross linked to will tell you that.
