Hi

Hi, I already have a Virgin Credit card and wanted to apply for the MBNA one. When applying online does the system automatically checks if an existed card is already held or is it all just based on the data they receive from CRA?

Thanks
MS

  • They'll have internal 'policy rules', eg (but not limited to) number of existing cards/total oustanding debt/available credit with them, which you must first comply with before they even search the CRAs.

    Searching CRAs costs money! ;)

Thanks - I did go ahead and applied for the card but unfortunately application was declined. Rang them up and they said it was because my existing Virgin card had a bal of 4k and the limit was 5k - MBNA said they would have considered it if the bal was less - she never mentioned anything regarding CRA.
