BarclayCard On-Hold for 46 Mins!!!

I just phoned up to cancel my Barclaycard and was on hold for a staggering 46 mins!!!! Made me 100% sure that I want to close the account and have nothing more to do with them. I will also pay-off my skycard this week which is also underwritten by Barclaycard as they recently annoyed me. So soon I will say goodbye to Barclaycard forever.

I cancelled using the secure email. Was told it was being referred to the relevant department, retentions? I await the phone call! I will take the card again if it is in my interest ie 0% with no fee as in this case, but with low credit limit. Still made a total of £150 for 2 minutes online time each month.

Update. I was offered a transfer at a fee, as I expected, by retentions. I declined, as the Lloyd's offer on another thread at 0% with no transfer fees intervened. I await the Lloyd's limit offered. It strikes me, if you are allowed to, have as many current accounts as you can. I keep mine, and my wife's, ticking over with £1 SOs from my true current account with Barclays as some accounts go dormant with inactivity including SOs. You can then take advantage of offers as they occur at little inconvenience, apart from keeping a track of the account you hold. In my case I do this on an Excel spreadsheet.
