Home insurance - false subsidence issues!

Hi all.

My father changed home insurance providers roughly 6 weeks ago from Woodstock to the NFU.

He received a phone call today from the NFU saying that they'd found a history of subsidence issues on the property from 9 years ago and they are demanding more information on this.

The problem seems to be when the council had to do work to the drains outside our house 9 years ago because a large oak tree was causing problems underground with it's roots, etc.
However, this didn't cause any problems or subsidence on the property - the council removed the problematic oak tree and fixed the problems with the drains, that was the end of it. We never went through our insurance company or made any claims.

The NFU are now basically demanding letters and information of all the work done outside our property 9 years ago, otherwise they might terminate the insurance policy.
I don't understand how this has happened, or where the NFU has got their information from. This could take my father many hours/days/weeks and he simply doesn't have the time whilst trying to run a business.

Do you know where the NFU would have got this false information of subsidence, or how this has happened?

He doesn't want to spend all this time researching into the problem with the oak tree/drains which happened 9 years ago when my grandparents lived here, but at the same time he doesn't want to have his insurance terminated and/or have problems getting insurance in the future because of this wrong information on the property.

What can we do about it?
