I have an old SAGEM ITD 62 freeview box which has 2 scart sockets.

1st scart is connected to the Tv.
2nd scart is connected to my cable tv box.

I can watch 2nd scart input (from cable box) by switching on freeview box, then switching it off.

This seems to let through the 2nd scart input for a period (20-30 min, maybe longer).

But after that period it switches off, the 2nd scart input (from cable box) is not switched through to Tv.

The 2nd scart input times out after a period.

Is this normal ??

Is there anything I can do to stop this time out, so scart 2 input remains connected & switched through ??
.

1st suggestion would be to connect the Cable box into the 2nd SCART connection on the TV instead of through the digibox, if your TV has one. Never heard of a SCART connection timing out.

My Tv doesn't have 2nd scart, only has 1 SCART socket.

That's why I'm using 2 scarts on freeview box.

    The timeout period is 30min.

Only suggestions I can give then is to have a good read through the Freeview's manual and have a look through all the settings to see if something is causing this behaviour. Otherwise, maybe your cable box has 2 scarts and you can put the freeview through it instead? Or last try would be to connect one of them to the composite connections on your TV. The red white and yellow ones. You can get SCART to composite connectors if you need one.

    I've worked it out now.

There is a TV/AUX button on the freeview box remote control that switches between Freeview and the Aux/2nd Scart input (from cable box).

That's the correct way to switch to 2nd scart input, so it doesn't timeout.

In this case the red LED on freeview box flashes showing it is in this state.

    Thanks.
