Falling Dollar

Options
I was wondering what peoples views were on the falling US dollar and whether anybody had any investment ideas or 'tricks of the trade' that would allow me to take advantage of the current rate of exhange. This may be a pretty stupid question (sorry if it is) - would it not be an idea to buy US dollars now as the exchange rate is so low and then sell them at a later dtae when the exchange rate has recovered?

When playing such games remember that you play against professionals that have access to lot of sources of information . If it were clear that dollar would rise everybody would buy dollars now and its rate would not be so low.

... a risky business if you want to basically trade in currencies! Infact the US$ has strengthened somewhat in the last few weeks against Sterling. The one benefit I've taken advantage of is buying items like DVD's & CD's from websites based in the U.S. or Hong Kong, but be careful you buy the correct format DVD's!

The $ is in a long-term volatile bear market.

The problem is - so is the £ :)
  • going to the US in May this year so i hope to get as much as i can. Even though it has fallen from it's peak i'm still going to get an awful lot more $ for my £ than my las visit 2 years ago.
