Which brands of kids clothes have the best resale value?

I recently sold some of my children's clothes on ebay and was quite impressed with the money I made.
My dd, who is in a size 116/ age 5-6 years, needs virtually a complete new wardrobe for this winter. There were big variations in the prices I fetched when I sold on ebay so before I go out shopping I started wondering - what brands will I see most of my money back on if I sell stuff after she has outgrown it?
My experiences with chain store clothes were that Boden made a lot (almost as much as it cost new!) and Monsoon made less than I expected. A Laura Ashley dress made a lot, but I wonder if this was a one off? I didn't bother to sell anything cheaper - Next, Gap etc, but sent it off to the charity shop as usual. Is there a market for this stuff that makes it worth the effort of listing?
The variation in Designer stuff was also quite suprising. I made my money almost back on Oilily but not on Little Darlings, Pampolina or Marese. Is this always the case - in which case all party dresses are from Oilily from now on!
I'd be really interested to hear the thoughts of experienced ebayers and specifically to know what's the best return anyone's had on reselling their kids clothing?

Because I'm a tight wad, I'd be inclined to buy in Primark. They're so cheap they won't owe you anything when they're outgrown!0

I would say monsoon and next go best, I bought a monsoon dress from the car boot the other day for 50p and it went for nearly £10:eek:My first ever Ebay Challenge. So far after fees etc for 2007 - £635.72 :T0

I would say Next and Boden always seem to sell well, and I always make almost all (sometimes more) of the money back I purchased them for!
Good luck on your future sales!" Though no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start now and make a brand new ending. "0 -
Next usually sells OK, so I'd try listing those mext time - maybe in bundles of several items if you don't think they'd be worth selling individually. Marks & Spencer tend to be reasonably popular on eBay because they're known for their consistent sizing, so parents feel confident buying their stuff by mail, whereas they might not want to with certain other brands *cough*Ladybird*cough* because they might not fit. I'm surprised the Monsoon dress made a disappointing price - they usually do OK, though ladies' Monsoon tends to sell better than girls'. With Burberry, it's the other way round, and the kids' stuff tends to do better on eBay than adults'.0

A Lot of people love next, Laura Ashley is a bit old fashioned style so I have found it doesn't sell brilliantly! I bought a gorgeous jumper from ebay which had £70 price tag on for £6!! (Laura Ashley) Boden, gap are good too and H&M funnily enough, as their clothes are quite inexpensive new!!

I'm surprised everyone's saying Next - we did have some of their stuff for nursery but I think it's cheap and looks it. Might dig out any leftovers we've got from last winter and put them on to see how much they fetch. Don't think I can bring myself to buy anything this winter as the younger girls stuff is now too small for DD and the older girls stuff I think is pretty horrible!0

I would say next, Timberland and H&M seem to go quite well.
Kids clothes dont seem to be selling all that well anymore. I have a massive amount of baby clothes under his cot in storage bags intending on putting them on ebay, but doesnt seem to be a good time at the moment.Work like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0 -
try looking in ebay pulse at clothes this will give you a good idea of what people look for.
