im having to drop hours can i claim working tax

hi all
my hours are being cut at work from 40 to 30

i was told i can claim working tax

but i also pay csa direct from my wages

please can anyone advise

i no the payments to csa will drop when my hours do

but if i can get wtc awarded to me it is my money or can csa take it??
please help i dont no what to do????

    im 30 living with my oh who works 30 hours

    im earning £300 a week
    but went my hours drop i'll only be earning just under £240 ish

    How much does your oh earn? Your joint income might be too much for WTC - the cut off point is £18k for a couple with no children.

  • its just under the 18 k mark, can csa use the wtc we may recieve as payment for my children?? even tho they take it from my wages?

    When you get re assessed as your income has dropped they will take your tax credits into account.

  • even at minimum wage for your other half, with her and your wages together it comes to over 21K, so you won't be eligible for WTC
