Having different types of bank a/c?

Might sound silly but I'm wondering, can a person have two current a/c and one basic a/c? What are the implications if any?

You can have as many accounts of as many types as you care to open up. the only issue you may run into is whether you can have a basic and standard account with the same bank.

I have Current Accounts with Barclays, First Direct, HSBC, Halifax, Lloyds, and Santander. Also Notice Accounts, Savings Accounts, Bond Accounts, etc. with Investec, Close Brothers, ICICI, Baroda, Post Office.....

And Uncle Tom Cobleigh and all!

Have as many as you like.

Sure you could. Each account have its own T&C/ requiremment attached to it that we need to compply. The bank will allow us to open any type of a/c as long as they believe that we will meet the requirement.

  • Actually having many bank accounts proved to be beneficial especially if you're aiming to save more money.

One of the best things that you can do to take control of your money in order to save more money is to set up different bank accounts for the different spending aspects of your life.

By using different bank accounts for the different aspects of your life, your goal of saving more money will be more attainable.
