I still think OP should try for a refund - if you don't ask you don't get.
I agree with that sentiment wholeheartedly.
  • I agree with Booter on this one as well. If the goods have a persistant fault then I believe under the SoGA you have a right to reject them, particularly if this fault is within the 1st 6 months of purchase.

These companies cannot keep inconviniencing people carrying out repair after repair.

I don't really understand why so many people defend these shoddy companies. It really is not good service.

Yes if the fault develops they may well be within their rights to offer a repair in the first instance, but if that fault reoccurs then the consumer should be allowed to reject the goods as being faulty.

If it was a repair i'd understand - the point is it HASNT been repaired.

Consumer reports x intermittent fault, engineer comes out but cannot find x fault. Obviously multiple visits is a waste of both your and their time, so they wish to take it to their repair centre to test it in a more convenient location - that sounds fair to me.

I certainly wouldn't call it "scandalous" and I know of very few products where you'd get a loan TV / instant refund based on a fault no-one could verify. If you wanted this level of support perhaps you should of asked for some sort of insurance / extended support plan?

I can almost predict the reply to this though... the answer is no I dont!

Or bought from somewhere else that DOES.
