Hi all. new to the site. hope everyone is ok
Just a quicky, can an insurance company give a refund if they make a mistake.
Basically, I took out a years bricks and mortar policy last year. and i have just recieved an email with a quote for an address I used to live at and not the address i was told last year (the address they had was an old RAF barrack block I was living in)
The statement of insurance had my current address, the address I wanted insuring but after speaking to them, they said the address which was insured was this address in Northumberland which I didnt mention when getting a quote (Im guessing its linked to my name on credit checks)
SO!! Am i entitled to my money back as I was never insured?
Hope it makes sense as after reading it back, Im lost!!
James

Seems a reasonable argument to me although no doubt they will argue that you were insured and that because either you made a mistake on the proposal and so insured the block or they made a mistake but would have corrected it if it had been discovered because you made a claim
Good luck with it0
