New build home Awful fitted carpets?

Recently bought a new build Barratt Home, and despite what a lot of online reviews would indicate it is actully pretty good...
Anyway we haggled and got carpets thrown in for the agreed price.
8weeks down the line the carpets are near enough worn through, no pile is left all flattened leaving what looks like a dirty old carpet.

I've asked Barratt for a replacement or the costs toward a replacement and they say it was a "sales Incentive" and as such they are no going to repair/replace.

I've contacted Consumer Direct who do not wish to advise with it being part of a hose sale.
So short of going to a Solicitor anyone know where I stand?

Thanks
