Toys R Us - Cardiff

I know the old Toys R Us has been demolished and that the new one is due to open before Christmas. I also remember hearing that it is going to be the biggest one in Europe and I can actually see them building it from my office desk.

Anyway, whilst driving through Cardiff the other day opposite where the old store was is an information point with a countdown in the window detailing how many days to the opening of the new branch.

Thinking about Christmas etc I was thinking that I should pop into see them as possibly they may give out voucher booklets or let me know of any special opening offers. Has anyone else been there ?

It was 23 days until the new store opens when I visited the info point yesterday at Toys R Us Cardiff. At the desk they have a A4 sheet of paper with one side showing how to get to the new toys r us and the other side had these vouchers :

£5 off when you spend £30 or more on toys
£10 off when you spend £70 or more on Babies R Us
£5 off when you spend £20 or more on video games consoles & software
£5 off when you spend £30 or more on sound, vision or new technology
£15 off when you spend £100 or more on bikes or wheeled toys
£10 off when you spend £70 or more on outdoor or sports toys

only valid at Toys R Us Cardiff, Swansea or Bristol - valid until 11th November

I went to town yesterday to see The Last Kiss (freebie ticket - and it was crap) and couldn't believe the odl Ice Rink had been pulled down!!

Crikey, I miss out on some beauts, don't I!? lol Each time I go to a different part of town there's something new that's popped up!!

And it's aaaaall good!

Cheers Hun! I'll pop in tomorrow. We're hoping to go down on the weekend. A bit mad but the kids are away for the weekend so we've got to the make the most of it!

Well I'm off to have a quick shifty around the new Toys R Us store tomorrow, hoping there will be some good promotional offers. In the Echo it states that Dr Who characters will be there so I am hoping DS gets to see the cyber men and daleks.

Shame Morrisons isn't open yet as I could have combined the two stores

i dont suppose anyone could tell me if its possible to get a bus there from the city centre or to walk from mermaid quay. i really want to go and have a look but i have no way of getting there! :mad:

there there is a bus from cardiff bus station that runs as far as asda in the bay.

its an easy walking distance from there, just not at all pedestrian friendly :eek:
