  • Thank u all

I just can't believe they won't accept an offer!
I'm not refusing to pay! Just can't pay it all at once.
I think they are very unfair! :-(

Put it in someones garage. Why did you ignore the fine in the first place?

Today is the day to sell your car for £1 to your husband/brother/dad/sister.

Write up a little dated receipt for their bargain (even get an independant witness to sign it if you are feeling really keen..or just the buyer and you) and ask if you can still use it. Or a good old statutory declaration for £5 at your local solicitors office to state you have sold it/they own it as per terms above as and when you have. When they tell you it is registered in your name and therefore they are taking it, tell them the legal owner and the registered keeper aren't the same thing and they can explain to the police why your husband is reporting his car stolen.

It's yours to sell until they levy on it. Would be so unfortunate if they came just a day too late and your husband owned it :(

I don't think it is a particularly fair option but when people threaten people and treat them so poorly they really don't leave many options. At least when you don't have a car to take they'll be more keen to hear about your payment offers. That's not to say I don't think you aren't a bit of a plonker for leaving it this long.
  • Mega plonked! I feel do stupid!!

I contacted the council thus morning whom agreed to send B&S a message saying I had contacted them and feel that a payment plan is the only option.

So I have written a letter to B&S with all my earnings and outgoings to show them I simply can't afford to pay one lump sum and offering them what I can afford.

Council suggested I contact the CAB
do you think I should? What can they do to help?

    X :-(

The CAB could get involved on your behalf, they have more weight than people give them credit for. Hard thing is getting to see them.

At least you've communicated with the council and that's good.

Have you parked your car WELL away from your home, preferably in a garage or building?
