Scarborough Ideas? Going tommorow!

Hi there everyone, Im going to scarborough for the first time tommorow, and wondered if anyone had any advise of places to go, or if there are any places to avoid?

Going tommorow morning, early start I am informed by my DH! Really looking forward to it, as will be our first holiday taking no kids! As my lad is 18 now

2 great beaches. North Bay is quiet and peaceful (unless a storm is brewing) South Bay is packed full of amusements, cafes, shops etc. Also check out Peasholm Park on the North side, beautiful oriental styled park with boating lake. Don't think there's anything on there, but have a look a the new Open Air Theatre whilst your there. Then take the miniature railway down to the Sea Life Centre. (if Sea Lide centre is not your thing you can always just enjoy a drink at the Scalby Mills pub!)

I love Scarborough, you can walk between either bay, along Marine drive, bit of a walk and if it's windy a bit bracing, but still prefer Scarborough to most sea sides, Whitby's a good day out too.

Make sure you wrap up warm as it is getting cold on the east coast. It is very hilly.

Avoid Weatherspoons at all costs

There are some good shops like Tkmaxx and Debenhams.

Cayton Bay and Filey are near by.
