As highlighted in a Money Saving email, I applied for a Santander account - I fit all the criteria and hey...who wouldn't say no to an extra £100 free? I filled in the application form and they sent me a request for information. I duly photocopies drivers license, passport and bank statements. They were duly returned to me :T

I then received an email asking me for information? I emailed them back explaining that I had already sent information and they had sent it back - I assume this email is an error?

Today they emailed me back explaining that my application had been 'abandoned'? (poor lost application) and I would have to start the process all over again :eek:

Needless to say I have emailed them back explaining that if they cannot open an account judiciously I doubt very much that they could handle it and therefore my account will be staying with Lloyds TSB. To me the hassle is not worth a free £100

Wise move. plenty of tales on this forum of Santander incompetence. They are pulling in new business with headline grabbing offers and also trying to absorb the other banks they've taken over at the same time. They don't seem to be up to the job...........
