i wouldn't, circumstances can change, you don't want to be split up from girlfriend and still be paying a loan to her parents.!! what about your parents?
No contact with dad, my mum hasn't worked since the eighties  No hope on that side of things unfortunately.

Ok... so what happens if they need it back (accident, house damage whatever...) - you can't pay it so now it becomes a problem between you, you gf and her parents... how long do you think that will be a happy place to be?

Right now the money problem is YOUR problem... if you borrow from friends or family it then becomes THEIR problem too... and anyone caught inbetween.

If the unemployment is going to be a long term issue then please speak to one of the debt charities... it may be that going BR is a possibility for you as you have no assets... it would enable you to get a fresh start and not have the pressure hanging over you. I don't like it beign used as an "easy get out" but in your case I think it could be making your issues worse havign this pressure hanging over you :)

edited to add.... and what if goodness forbid something happened to you... a bus hit you etc... they would have lost that money and have no way to get any back... could they afford that? A bank has some insurance in place (underwriting) to protect them and it's not as big a loss to them as it would be for 2 people to loose their savings...
