Vertical blinds in a conservatory?

I had decided to have vertical blinds in my conservatory. Have had three companies to give me quotes but the third company said it wasnt a good idea to have verticals as I would loose too much space (the blinds would jut out form the window too far). This apparently is because I dont have a window sill, my conservatory just has the UPVC panels in the bottom. Have any of you got verticals without a window sill? What do you think to them, should I have a re-think????

We got pleated blinds from this lot: http://www.247blinds.co.uk/pleated_blinds.asp
Look great, and no loss of space at the sides. Just looking for a small pelmet for them to disappear behind when they are up now. No connection, just a satisfied customer.

I have pleated blinds on each window, they are more expensive but they do take up a lot less room and you can open the doors and windows without them swinging and being noisy when it is breezy or windy.0

Thanks for your advice, my first thought was to make roman blinds but I went for the easy option with verticals, may just go back to plan A. Thanks again0

Yes, cant help but agree, the swining and banging of verticals when i have the windows/doors open would really put me off,
Why not just roller blinds.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
