Temptation to move

Having been with staywarm for years (2 of us 2 bedroom) paying £90+ per month, we have now moved to another part of the country and have used British Gas and Southern Electric for the last 6 months. NPower say they can reduce our bill by £178 per year. Plus DD bonus's. Am tempted.

I would suggest you use a comparison site first, you may get an even better deal than nPower"Now to trolling as a concept. .... Their online tariff is competitive at the moment, but if they are quoting savings without consumption its meaningless.Mixed Martial Arts is the greatest sport known to mankind and anyone who says it is 'a bar room brawl' has never trained in it and has no idea what they are talking about.0

Yes I agree now. I've just added both elect/gas for the six months since we've been here and doubled to get a years estimate, and it'snothing like they suggested I'd use. I think it best to hold out now till we've been here a year and passed through a winter and then with both sets of figures, look into it again, don't you? This is a system account and does not represent a real person. If you have gas heating, then chances are that your electric consumption will not vary much from summer to winter (I think we pay about 10% more in winter compared to summer reflecting the longer nights, the lights on more, and perhaps the fact we are out less in winter)
Certainly worth checking if you are on the best electric deal now.
If you contact your current supplier, they should be able to give you an estimate of annual gas uage in kWh too. They'll take into account your previous usage and perhaps compare it to previous occupants to assess likely winter usage.
Use that figure to check on best current gas deal. Beware of any early exit fees, as I would suggest you keep any eye on consumption and if it varies widely from the figure the supplier has given, check again for best deal and switch again if appropriate."Now to trolling as a concept. ....
