Tip - How to save money on the First Choice website

When you book a package holiday on the First Choice website. You fill in the left hand side of the homepage putting the Airport and region you want to visit and then the number of people and ages etc.
When you have found the holiday you want instead of booking it make a note of the hotel, dates and flights etc and then click on the “Hotels” tab at the top of the page and put in the details of the hotel you want and the dates and who is going etc.
When you have found the hotel and dates you want (the same as in the first search) select it and then search for flights (an option half way down the page). You can then choose the flights which you had chosen in the package and you will find that the cost of the holiday is cheaper and still a package from First Choice!
I found this by accident this summer when we wanted a last minute getaway.
I have tried for next summer and it does not seem to show the flights so it may just cover the next few months but I have just tried twice just now for holidays this October and both times it has come back with about a £50 saving. This is not a big saving on a holiday but it does pay for a few essential beers!
I know this sounds silly but just try it and tell me why it seems to work. Thanks

Has anybody tried this yet or got an explanation? Thanks0

It is not unusual. You can do the same on the Thomson site. The package price may include transfers in the basic price, but flight plus hotel bookings do not.0

you may also not get the extras from a particular holiday, like if its a platinum holiday you wont get the extra luggage or private transfers etc etc

If its a family hotel with kids clubs, your child isn't entitled to a place unless its a package.0

I always book my hotel and flights seperately with Thomson and my daughter has had no problem getting into the kid's club.0
