Listing Removed

Recently had a listing removed. I had listed a main item with the choice of one of 4 items to go with it, and was told it was avoiding eBay fees. I'm not entirely sure how I am avoiding fees?

I wish to relist the item. Instead of it being packaged together with you buy the item and get one of 4 items to go with it, can I say that the winning bidder can choose a free gift?

I have seen both ways being done on eBay many many times and I was shocked to have my listing pulled - never been done before! Can anyone advice my best course of action? Sorry if I seem a bit vague, but don't really want to give away the item/s I am selling.

    This is dubious territory.

You would have been avoiding fees, because what you *should* have done in ebay's eyes is list the 4 choices separately, paying 4x the fees.

I wouldn't recommend the free gift idea... 1) because people do things that aren't allowed, and some get away with, but it doesn't mean it's ok, and 2) they'll be watching you closely now.

The thing is, when the main item is sold I intended to the sell the other 3 separates individually anyway on eBay. lol. Just wanted to give the buyer a choice of additional items to enhance my auction in my competitive market.

Grrr. lol. I'm just going to just have to pick myself what to include and what not to include with the main item.

Just to clarify, "they" are most likely rival sellers (though possibly just any eBay members who happen to have a bee in their bonnet about certain rules), not eBay personnel. EBay do not atively police listings, but if someone, for whatever reason, has reported your listing then they might be loking out for similar to report again.
