No Gas Metre Yet - Cost to move pipe work
I was wondering if anyone has been in my situation.
This morning I had it confirmed that I do have a Gas supply coming into my property and I just need a meter to B fitter and a regulator.
Unfortunately, the person that infromed me that I would need to remove the shelf in my kitchen cupboard if the meter ect was to be fitted. Which mean's I would have even less cupboard space than I had B4.
He was not able to tell me how much it would cost to move the pipe work into the cupboard next tot he kitchen where the boiler is to be located.
I have to wait around three week's for just a call from Southern Gas Networks. NO heating in my house except for electric heater's I purchased from argos.
Hope to install Gas Central Heating B4 the winter hit's.
Any advice would on process would be much appreciated.
Thanking everyone in advance.

I guess from what you are saying is that the existing gas pipe and the emergency control value (ECV) is in the kitchen cupboard. If you want it moved they will normally run a new pipe from the street which will costs you loads.IT Consultant in the utilities industry specialising in the retail electricity market.

also there are rules and regs regarding access to the the emergency control handle which has to be next to the meter.I am responsible me, myself and I alone I am not the keeper others thoughts and words.0

A representative was in the area so I was seen early but he confirmed that the location in the kitchen was rather silly and was not thought out. This did not make me feel any better.
He did say that they would need to dig though the car park in order to shut the valve off refit a new one and attache the box externally.
I just have to wait for the quote will post result's when they arrive.
Many thank's to everyone that posted a reply :-)0
