    I have also heard a rumour ( and would stress that I don't know how true it is - purely anecdotal ) of one headteacher who charges parents a fee to authorize holiday, on the basis that if she doesn't they will get fined anyway!:eek:

    .and the holiday companies will just extend the peak period in order to cover the holidays - they will always win

    Oh yabba, dabba, doooooo, we've gone and done the impossible.

    We've got written permission for young Cat to exceed the 'permitted' discretionary 10 days permitted additional leave by a couple of days.

    We are so lucky to have a school that fully supports what we are trying to do with our son.

    Happy, happy days.:j:beer::j:beer::T

    i asked for 3 days off for my 13 year old to take him to disney in paris i was told no, as he has had too much time off, i explained that he was getting treatment in hospital on a weekly basis , and i was told these app should of been booked out of school time explained the only time i could gt was 8am and that was out of school time but by the time he had his treatment and we got across the city we were about 1 late, he also has counselling every week as he has depression and does not want to live any more and explained this trip was booked as he has had a very tough year, i was told the educational wealth officer would be in touchm we are going to disney on thurs and i have still heard nothing, only that the school will be closed on one of those days so he only needs two days off

    so watch this space i am expecting a fine for taking him anyway!

    Hooray! A school that puts the children ahead of their attendance statistics!
    (I knew there must still be one somewhere! :D)

    Around here you wouldn't even get the 10 days authorised (alot of parents have stopped even bothering to ask now) !

    dear, dear me, its with people like you/your son that surely some common sense & discretion would pay rich dividends for years to come.

    I was pleasantly surprised to get the official 'yes' in writing. Just how they are going to 'fudge' their figures will be interesting.
