broadband connection very slow

My wireless broadband connection has been running fine until this morning and it's very slow today......taking ages to load a page. Is there anything I can do to sort it out?? Have run a virus scan and everything is clear. Any ideas gratefully received!!

Reboot and get a new connection to the ADSL, this usually fixes mine. Hardly ever a problem with the wireless.

Check your security settings. From my experience an unexpectedly slow wireless connection is often due to it being highjacked.

Phill's answer will help as resetting the router will drop all connections.

You may find that one of your neighbours is playing online games or downloading films at your expense. :-(

In your browser open the router page. If you haven't chnged the password do that IMMEDIATELY. You may be able to view who's online.

Change the wireless password for something you'll remember. A nice long phase of 20 + characters is ideal. Last step (not usually listed in the manual) is to turn OFF SSID broadcast so that outsiders can't just happen upon your connection.

Make sure that you set up firewalls on every laptop and PC that you use.
