Shop Direct Fraud

Not sure if this is the relevant section however can't seem to find anything related.
I wonder if someone could give me some advice on the above.
My partner and I have just tried to take out a mortgage however this has been declined due to a ‘linked address’ showing on her credit report. We have therefore signed up to Experian and there is a linked address relating to Shop Direct (mail order catalogue) which she has no knowledge of.
We have now contacted them to try to get the issue sorted as basically it is fraudulent activity. They have confirmed that the account was taken out at her address and was changed to a different address (200 miles away) a month later. No goods were delivered within the first month and all orders were delivered to the changed address in Sheffield. Before they will investigate this they have advised they will only accept a bank statement from April 2006 that was sent to her real address to confirm she was not living in Sheffield. The problem is that she didn’t have a bank account at the time, only a building society book account which has since been closed and she has no other official letters as she has lived at the same address with her parents all of her life. We have therefore dug out as much documentation for the period confirming she lived at her actual address:
- Copy of Experian report showing that she has lived at the same address all her life and that she was listed on the Electoral Register
- Drivers Licence
- Log Book
- Insurance Documentation
- Wage Slips with employers reference dated August 2006 (she couldn’t have lived 200 miles away and be earning £150/week in a local shop)
There were two other ‘linked addresses’ listed for Natwest & Mint credit cards, both of these organisation have accepted the above documentation and the links have now been removed.
Can any body offer any further insight as to what legislation this may covered under and the next course of action?
Thanks

Ask Experian to remove the address from your credit file as it is incorrect and they will do so immediately.Best Regards
