Geothermal power
I'm moving into a new home soon and have always wanted to have geo thermal energy - or at least partial - to power my home. Other than it taking energy from the earth's core I know little about it. I expect it costs a bit to have installed too but there may be government subsidy - again I don't know and just beginning enquiries here. Be glad to hear from anyone who has it. Thanks.

I think you may be getting confused between Geo Thermal energy and Ground Source Heat pumps.
Would suggest you Google both and decide which one you really mean.0 -

Hi Catbells.. these people know more..though the spending review next month may scupper the whole scheme. Air source heat pumps are a lot less expensive to install.0 -
There was a very recent programme on R4 about this, seems 80% plus installers are incompetent and the installation is not as effecient as it could be
My advice is wait until next Spring, when VAT is reduced on these, and a national compatance registration scheme is introduced
Sorry about the spelling BTWEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0
