Travel insurance for relative from Ghana

My dad is coming to the UK from Ghana for 3 weeks. He is a non-UK national. Want to ensure he is covered in case of sickness etc. Would prefer to book and pay for his insurance from here in the UK. Is European cover sufficient?

Travel insurance is related to your country of residence so he wouldn't be eligible for UK policies (they would probably sell it, but he'd never be able to claim). Some companies that have a policy for Ghana will let you apply, but you have to put it as the place of residence. I have no idea which ones sorry (try www.worldnomads.com, however I don't think it is really what you're looking for. I just know they are essentially brokers who have policies for many different countries and they might do Ghana).
