You just drag and drop them into the green box.

I just used Jasc paintshop pro then go into menu image resize then choose what size you wanted I selected 40% of orginal image as I have images around 3264x2448. I also cropped a few pictures then saved as jpeg and used a little compression 4%. Images around 800k some 1mb.

Think I might try the first part, I'll have a root around paintshop, but the rest of it beat me

No problem glad to help. Even old versions PSP will work, latest build even enhances and cleans digital noise which is a problem with digital camera. Most photo manipulation programs also work for resizing.

You can always download a trial version if your on broadband.
