student nurses

has anyone in first year ever worked over xmas period,my daughter has got timetable till 4th dec when she starts placements,she has holidays in november,i used to think nurses wouldnt want students untrained hangin round when they are on not many staff,am i wrong in thinkin this

  • My daughter didn't. She had the week off. Students are supernumery so it's unfair to ask them to work at Christmas.

  • My daughter just started her training and has been told she will have every christmas off as student nurses are not required to work the holidays. She was thrilled to bits.. she's a mature student and hasnt had christmas off in years!

    We get Christmas off, and a week at Easter (however we may work the May bank holidays (but you get a day in lieu)
