Another BG Service a valued customer

I have just found out that as "a valued customer of British Gas" I am paying £107 per year extra for a Homecare 200 service agreement, compared to a new customer. I have had a service agreement for more than 15 years, my current monthly premium is £24.99. However as a new customer, via an online quote, I can have exactly the same cover for £16.07 per month. It's great to feel so priveleged. Are there other utilities who treat their valued customers as well?

Have you asked British Gas?, to be fair this is the same as any utility company, insurance company, satellite tv company etc etc. I suspect a quick phone call would see you saving a few quid.

My gas servicing costs £45, as and when required.

It has been once in 8 years.

New boiler fitted, cost about £900 to £1200.
Service charge £25 a month for 36 montsh, new boiler. To save money, make sure boiler runs with Hot water during the summer, run heating once every 4 weeks during this period. Call outs in 25 years 2. Total cost £90!

Don't work in that side (I'm sure someone'll be along soon), but I think the first year is a set price, and subsequent years at a price based on your system.
Otherwise it'd be the same price for a 1 bed flat and a 5 bed family home. fair?
