ORANGE can't get on Facebook :)

Thanks but what does this mean please?
Each device on the internet has a unique address (like a phone number)
Because the internet is a lot bigger than ever anticipated these numbers are running out. Hence there is a desire to move to a system with more addresses.
There is a system in place known as address translation - which means that a provider can give you an internal address and then translate all these internal address into less external addresses. All UK mobile networks do this by default as far as I know.
As an aside, I used to work for a company that used to set up IP SEC VPN's over 3G connections and the dynamic NAT (translating the addresses, but each packet would come from a different address in the pool) meaning that it used to cause trouble with the firewalls. I seem to remember the issue here was with Vodafone and Orange.0 -
Facebook is almost completely dead tonight due to a server problem. What will the great unwashed do now, I wonder! If I've helped you please show your appreciation by using the "Thanks" button

I had issues a few days ago with orange but they were resolved within 24 hours. Todays issue is affecting mobiles and computers, it seems that no one can access facebook.
My husband is gutted as now he actually has to talk to me, lol!0 -
Facebook is still fine on T-Mobile 3G and on o2 broadband. Seems faster than normal too, maybe because no one else can still access it.0

I've been in the Orange shop today to ask about this.
I'm wondering what criteria you have to meet to become an Orange employee because they were that dense in there, I'm suprised they hadn't had to take their mothers in to breastfeed them!
2 employees had no clue what I was even on about DOH!
The manager then informed me that there was a problem with Oranges internet connection with FB.......No !!!!!! SHERLOCK!!!:money: Martin Lewis Rocks!:money:0 -

Most people in phone shops are there primarily to SELL and secondly to try and fob off customers who come in with some sort of complaint or awkward query. I would certainly not expect much in the way of technical knowledge, although you might get the odd exception.0 -
Well I 've rang them today, asked for a PAC code so I can move to another network.
Theyve miraculously said they know all about it now, its only on PAYG mobiles so would I like to go on a contract for the same as what I top up, a rolling pay monthly contract not a 12/24 month one. and I can have a free phone!
But I still couldn't get the PAC code!!:money: Martin Lewis Rocks!:money:0 -
