Problems with windows live email

Hi
I'm puzzled! My email accounts send/receive emails from the same (NTL/Virgin) servers as OH.
When she logs in on her windows account and windows live she inconsistantly receives her emails which then delete themselves. Also not able to reply and has started to cut and paste the message to try and reply as a new email. Now the problem is that emails will not send from the account either - error message:
An unknown error has occurred.
Subject 'test'
Server Error: 421
Server Response: 421 Cannot connect to SMTP server 81.103.221.11 (81.103.221.11:465), connect error 10060
Server: 'smtp.ntlworld.com'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC67
Protocol: SMTP
Port: 25
Secure(SSL): No
I've tried adding her accounts to my windows live and can receive her emails OK (it seems) but still get the message above when sending but only from that one account. As I said I have 2 other accounts on the same servers with same settings and they work fine.
When she accesses through web mail, all is fine too.
Anyone any ideas what's going off?

Are you connecting to the internet through NTL or Virgin? If you connect through Virgin and try to send messages using NTLs SMTP server, it'll block them. However it would work through a browser using webmail. Change the SMTP server on the NTL account to the Virgin one if you connect via Virgin internet.0

ISP is Virgin Media, formerly NTL, hence ntl email addys. My 2 ntl addys work fine and OH's used to until a month or so ago.Are you connecting to the internet through NTL or Virgin? Webmail works fine but is only a work around. I tried changing STMP to VM and same result. Also tried deleting the account from windows live and setting up again - no change.:(0
