  • so if you work for Nationwide you have no targets? How do you know they have no targets? is that your assumption
so they have no mortgage targets? or new money? or home insurance? or bank accounts? Yeah Right!!!!

Surely every business gives you targets. If you work in the financial services industry then it is sales and service and a combination. If you don't sell anything then it does not work. Surely this BS is not exception to this.

If I was a customer of Natiowide i'd be pretty annoyed that I was not getting any merger funds as, Portman customers are.

and kenshaz - do not insult me !!! I have a personality and it have not been replaced with policy. I said that I don't agree with everything my employer does. I'm sure your Royal Air Force days have made you a right moany old misery as is showing in many of your posts!!!!!

Just an assumption ,they all seem so very happy, nothing is too much trouble and they have sweets for customers, and they do funny adverts, and they do not charge when you withdraw cash abroad

I like the nationwide advertisements, they are funny and sometimes I feel like the guy on the advert when explaining trackers, capped, variable, stepped, stepped tracker etc...

You have to take a step back from it all as this is just marketing doing their job.

I am sure BT did a thing on treating existing customers to the same deals as new ones. I also believe that More Than were one of the first insurers to market the fact that they had good comperhensive insurance policies with their "lucky" dog ads. I would also go as far as "those people" at First Active were ahead of the game with their rates are open to new and old?

All I am saying is that whether a company who answers to shareholders or its members, they are still a business and have targets and will use very similar tactics to gain market share and customers.

I know the Skipton BS very well, who are a mutual and you wouldnt believe how diverse they are in terms of companies that they own. They are diverse and have to be this way to stop being eaten up by the bigger fish as such.

  • Love the NW adverts - how much do you have to pay an agency that will make banking funny?

Cleverly priced, marketed and smart enough to know who will make them money as customers and who won't.
