xbox 360 full + xtra wireless pad + pgr3 + charger kit £270

i went to game to get the xbox 360 premium deal, which consisted of an xbox 360 full, extra wireless pad and PGR3 what i found on offer was

xbox 360 full, extra wireless pad and PGR3 + outfit = £299.99
xbox 360 full, extra wireless pad and PGR3 + tomb raider = £299.99

so i was pleased to see the deal i was going to buy, had an extra game although i didn't like either and they would not swap it for a similar valued game!

as they did not have tomb raider in stock, i got the xbox 360 full, extra wireless pad and PGR3 + the outfit = £299.99 package

i asked how much i would get if i traded in the outfit , i was told £8, so i did not bother!

they are also doing a selection of games for £20 when you buy an xbox console, so i got saints row for £20

total price £319.99

there is a games exchange 100 yards from my local game shop, so i took the outfit there as it is still shrink wrapped and unopened they offered me £12 cash or £17 trade, i took the £17 trade and got myself an offical charger and battery kit for my wireless pad for £14.99

i went home happy, but it didn't end there!

the saints row game was not shrink wrapped when they gave it me, although it was brand new so i played it for a short time and i didn't like it, so i took this back the next day, was asked what was wrong with it, i said nothing, i was asked if it had been played i said no

and i got £49.99 refunded , instead of the £20 i paid

so it works out i got

xbox360 full + extra wireless pad + battery and charger kit + PGR3 for £270

nice deal i think!

so if you have a local game shop, look out for those deals and the £20 offer for a game, you might be able to return it a day later for an extra £30 for nothing :T

So if you bought 5 of the £20 games deals (providing there is not a limit on the amount you buy) with the Xbox 360 and then returned them at upto £30 profit each (once again depending on Game's RRP on those games) you could potentially save yourself half of the console cost. Does anyone know what games are in the offer?

it seems like the original poster was lucky. If there is a discount on the bottom of the recipt im sure most till people will realise.

I will have a look when i go into town today, but i think he was just "lucky"
  • Yep, i think he was lucky too. I worked at woolworths and we'd always check the fulll reciept to see how much was paid/discounted etc.

Saturday staff, not like they used to be! :)
    I'm better off without you.

So in theory you could save upto £60 off an XBOX 360 by buying two games for £20 each in the offer then getting them refunded.

£240 for a 360 premium pack, not bad at all, although wait until november with a rumoured price drop and then see what offers Game has then.

The rumoured price drop was pretty much due to conincide with the playstation 3. Now the PS3 has been delayed in europe M$ probably wont drop it by much if at all. The core will definately drop though, everyone knows a lot of money is made from accessories.

Well, there are strong rumours that with the release of the Nintendo Wii on December 8th for £179 that Microsoft will indeed reduce the price of the core pack at the very least, its not just Sony & M$ that are in the console market.

Sony should now be very worried, Nintendo and Microsoft battling the price ground whilst they struggle with ever rising blueray costs...Sony need to pump everything they have got into the PSP this christmas, besides the gimmicky Pink PS2's & PSP's they need a strong run up of software and hope that sales of the GPS PSP attachment takes off.

Hey you can see how it happened. They put the "outfit" discount on the top half of the reciept, and then they have put the saits row discount on the bottom half after the sub total. Both discounts were for the same amount. When I first looked at the reciept I couldn't spot it and he had told us about it.
