Certificates of Deduction of Tax - Bradford & Bingley FR Bond, now Santander

In Sept 2008 my Bradford and Bingley Fixed Rate Savings Bond account was taken over by Abbey National, who were part of the Santander Group.
The latter seem to be having some difficulty giving me a Certificate for Deduction of Tax on it. They say they are 'processing things' but nothing seems to happen.
The Santander Call Centre said today, "We are passing on the information and your request to send out the certificate to you to the Supervisor. You should receive it within 7-10 working days."
Just to reassure me:
Q. Has anyone else actually received one of these certificates from Santander yet?

I went into my (ex-Bradford & Bingley) branch and requested one and it arrived within a week or two.0

Just a note to say mine arrived in the post a day or so ago. It was in the form of a letter made to act as a Certificate and referred to as a 'Duplicate'.
I wonder what happened to the original, if ever there was one?0
