Is paying for a luggage tracker (TRACE ME) worth it?

I've been reading about this offer below where you basically get 2 tags, which are trackable and supposed to help you get your baggage back quicker if it becomes lost.

Does anyone have any experience of using them? They are currently £9.99 for 2 also at the moment with a code and they are valid for life, so I'm very tempted!

When you check your bags they'll attach an ID tag with a barcode so that your luggage can be traced and returned to you, for free.

I've not read every word on every page on that site, so maybe someone else can find it, but I can't find any type of guarantee. Not even your money back if they can't find your lost luggage. It's not looking like a great deal to me.

Surely it would just make more sense just to make sure you do the 'old school' thing of putting a label inside your case with your name and address? That would cover you in case the barcode sticker and the sticker strap thing gets detached somehow.

There was an offer on here a few months ago to get these for £1.50 I think it was. Do a search.

I found them to be absolutely useless. Our cases didn't arrive in May. I checked the Track Me site and there was no information. They were easily tracked with the airline's bar code and turned up next day. One of the Trace Me labels was missing after only one flight

They would only work if the baggage handlers scanned the Trace Me label and I doubt any of them are going to check people's personal labels to see if they need to scan it.
