AA reward points on old cards

Hi
I can't find my old thread because it was a little while ago. I have finally got to speak to a human being at the rewards scheme line and this is what has happened.
Because I don't have a new MNBA linked credit card, I don't get high street vouchers. I had just over 6,000 points and was told that they were worth £30 in cash or £62 against my home insurance policy. I explained I'd already paid for the latter and they'd said I couldn't use my points with them. The reply: you've done the right thing phoning us after you've paid! Result? Having given them my policy number, I get £62 in cash! Given that I'd already got them to take £50 off the renewal rate by telling them what Sheila's Wheels were offering, I'm quite pleased with that result.
Just in case this is useful for any other holders of old AA credit cards.
