AA reward points on old cards

Hi
I can't find my old thread because it was a little while ago. I have finally got to speak to a human being at the rewards scheme line and this is what has happened.

Because I don't have a new MNBA linked credit card, I don't get high street vouchers. I had just over 6,000 points and was told that they were worth £30 in cash or £62 against my home insurance policy. I explained I'd already paid for the latter and they'd said I couldn't use my points with them. The reply: you've done the right thing phoning us after you've paid! Result? Having given them my policy number, I get £62 in cash! Given that I'd already got them to take £50 off the renewal rate by telling them what Sheila's Wheels were offering, I'm quite pleased with that result. :)

Just in case this is useful for any other holders of old AA credit cards.
