Renting with CCJs

Hi

I'm hoping for some advice as I haven't a clue where to turn for advice or how to go about this.

I want to rent a flat but I have 2 CCJs that were registered three years ago and will obviously be on my file another 3 years. I have a bad credit record from previous history but have been continuously paying back my debts now for 3 years without any missing payments. My total debt including the CCJs is around 5,000.

I want to know if anyone has advice about the possible difficulties I may face and how to deal with them.

Thanks.

Can you supply a guarantor for the rent as many LL's / LA's will reject you after a credit check if you don't have one. Possibly go into one of the LA's and ask their policy.
  • I'm not sure about the guarantor. I've heard about them accepting a certain amount of months rent upfront; have you heard of that?

Thanks for the reply - I'll find out the policies like you suggested.
