            Hi
PC Doctor has asked permission to post on this thread. We've said we're happy to post a one-off statement on its behalf.
I understand the concerns that I am reading here. There must be some very unscrupulous companies out there, but they are mostly the ones that are 'invisible', to it’s customers i.e don’t show their full address details, company or vat numbers, Directors names etc on websites or stationery. I believe that’s normally because they do not wish to be answerable to the customer in any way. My company is highly visible because I solve problems when I get them. I can’t say they never happen because I supply a very busy service to the home consumer but I can say that when I do get a problem, I deal with it fairly so they seldom escalate. Surely that is the most important thing that a consumer could hope for?
It is a testament to my company that there are no negative posts on this forum from customers who have had first-hand experience of our service, surely this demonstrates my point? Yes, we do have well-paid quality staff and that is why we are not the cheapest but we carry out same-day repairs (to include hardware repairs) in front of our customers so they can see what we are doing so that they can become more independent themselves afterwards. In fact 40% of my customers come back to us every month because we provide a three month labour guarantee on all of our work, so if we do ever get it wrong, we go back and fix it, free of charge!
With regards to what the FSB actually does, it is a (charged) support service for small businesses whose affiliation with the FSB provides discounts on services such as insurance, legal services, private healthcare etc. Those companies advertise their services via the FSB with the benefit of discounts for its members. So there is little benefit to the consumer except that it can be a good indication that the company is run professionally. My FSB number is 2146441, feel free to browse them on the FSB website, http://www.fsbonline.co.uk/ my yearly membership expires in July 2011.
Because of my privacy policy, I can't identify my customers but I have no problem in liaising with any of them to correspond with anyone who would like to check on their post’s authenticity.

You can check all their customer invoices here:

That's a massive confidentiality breach, possible data protection breach, and really poor form for a company that should be expert at IT.
Strange, there website has been locked and restricted access only to members with passwords!0

This company advertise vacancies in my area every 6 months or so, but I've never come across anyone who has actually used them.
Personally, there is nothing wrong with doing work for PC Doctor, but telling each customer that if they call you direct then you will do the job for less.Never Knowingly Understood.

Funnily enough, after posting on here, I went on to job-hunt on the Direct.gov site, and what popped-up?, yep, a job ad for PC Doctor.
Before anyone asks, yes I did apply. As they employ you as s/e, with a min. 6 hrs p/w, it is still worth it as I would register a Limited company and so become a PAYE employee (one option PC Dr advise), so for the weeks I don't quite work 16 hours, I can still claim benefits. This would then give me the chance to go ahead with my own business (not IT related) whilst still having a residual income from (hopefully) regular work.Never Knowingly Understood.
