No Scottish cashback
I switched my gas and electricity to Scottish Power via Energyhelpline before the end of March and was under the impression that I would get cashback from both. Scottish Power now tell me that the only cashback is from Energyhelpline. Has anyone else experienced this difficulty?

Nope, switched via tcb and got my £120 in the bank within 3 months as expected
how much cashback were you expecting and from whom exactly?0 -
Why were you expecting cashback from both? That is not normal.0

The only way you'd get cashback from both is if the supplier had a specific offer, like NPower and E.On giving £100 credit TO THE BILL after 12 months. However these offers are based on the standard tariff which is almost never the cheapest.Mixed Martial Arts is the greatest sport known to mankind and anyone who says it is 'a bar room brawl' has never trained in it and has no idea what they are talking about.0

I'm sure MoneysavingExpert said Scottish Power were giving £50 cashback in addition to the £50 from Energyhelpline if applications to switch were received by end of March.:money:0

... and they would be giving you £130 or £140 if you switched via topcashback or quidco instead of the miserly sum from energyhelpline. Do not take everything Martin writes as gospel. He frequently posts poor advice about switching.0

So you complain is about the accuracy (or not) of info on this site. Generally speaking check it out yourself, offers can be withdrawn at anytime.Mixed Martial Arts is the greatest sport known to mankind and anyone who says it is 'a bar room brawl' has never trained in it and has no idea what they are talking about.0

Hi, Like you I was promised £50 cashback from Scottish Power and £30 from the Energy helpline.
So far nothing. Scottish Power say it is not their responsibility. I have emailed Energy Helpline and am waiting for their response.
I find it quirky that there is no contact on this site to log formal complaints. I won't be using their offers any more!!0 -

Oh well, bye."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -
Steady there, Premier - it is ridiculous that Martin (or his cohort) continues to go around suggesting that an 'up to £30' offer from Energyhelpline is the be-all-and-end-all of cashback offers. Especially when this is often £100 short of the mark. And newcomers to the site or email letter should not have to be scrying the sticky above or email letter to find the small print.0
