DVD hack help

I just bought a dvd player from bestbuy in china and was wondering if anyone knows the code to make it multi-regional, i've tried looking for a code everywhere and my model doesn't seem to have one :S it's a DVP3552K model, please help :)

    All searches for that model pointed me to a Philips DVD player.

    This is the code I used to get my Philips DVD player multi-region. Could be worth a try:

    1. Turn the DVD player on (with no disc in the drive).
    2. Press the "Setup" button on the remote control.
    3. Highlight but do not select the "Preferences" page using the right directional button.
    4. Type 1,3,8,9,3,1 on your remote. The default region setting will be displayed.
    5. Use the Up/Down directional buttons to select the required region, or select "0" for region free.
    6. Press the "Setup" button on the remote control to leave the menu.

  • Thankyou for your reply, I saw a few hacks that said to highlight the preferences section of the set up menu but there is no preferences section on mine :S it seems very difficult to find my model anywhere on the internet....

    Hello,

    It looks very like my DVP3360.

    I just looked at the user manual online for your model and the manual does show a preferences section.

    Have a look here at the bottom of page numbered 16.

    If you press Setup, do you see a square box with a tick inside it at the bottom of the list?
