Sound driver help (keeps resetting).

Just set up a HTPC. Using the ATI 4350 and Windows 7, when I first set it up the sound was fine, played over the HDMI. But the desktop didn't take up the whole screen, so I had to update catalyst control centre to 10.8 and adjust the overscan settings. All was fine.

Turned HTPC off, booted up the next day and no sound, downloaded the realtek HDMI sound drivers, installed, again all was fine. Next day booted up, no sound. Had to install the drivers again.

Today I've had to do the same.

So for some reason the sound keeps resetting itself. If I reboot, it still works, but when I turn it off at night, boot up in the morning and the sound is gone.

Anyone got any advice on how to sort it?

  • i had a similar issue to you in that i had to install my wireless adapter software when turning on, i eventually fixed it by updating my BIOS and install the driver in compatibility mode vista sp2.
