What gets checked in a mortgage valuation?
firstaspect
We're just going through selling our house and the buyers mortgage company are sending round someone tomorrow to do the basic valuation.
We currently have the gas disconnected (it was done by a registered gas engineer) from the outlet of the meter as we need to get some pipework replaced which is being done Friday morning.
Will this be picked up or do they not check that the services are physically connected and functional?
Thanks.

Does it matter if they do? You're in the middle of having a necessary repair carried out and if I were a vendor I'd be happy that you were having this done. The mortgage company could always send their valuer round after it's been completed if they're not happy.
The difference in value to the property between the gas being connected and not might be about a hundred quid or so, so not that material in the great scheme of things I would have thought.0 -
True, just with all the stress associated with the whole moving process I'd rather keep everything as simple as possible and not have to talk through problems if I can help it.0
