Ravage (b) virus

my mate has the ravage (b) virus and i have read the report on the symantec website and it isnt anyhelp as he cannot get into norton internet security 2005 in asafe mode but it will run a virus scan in safe mode
how would i erase the virus manually

Assuming you know what file(s) need to be removed, you could just boot into the command prompt, or use a Windows startup floppy and delete the file.
If you want to keep the files and try a repair then something like Ultimate Boot CD or Knoppix might be able to help (if you are fairly tech-savvy). Do a search on Google for these tools.0 -
it will run a virus scan in safe mode but he cant get into NIS in safe mode? what are you scanning it with then? I'm lost!
Anywayyy, Update your Norton, make note of the file and directory which the virus is situated in at the moment, boot into safemode and delete the file and delete it from recycle bin. Do a PC scan in safe mode using Norton and hopefully it'll be clean0 -
