Insurance for provisional liscence holder/changing insurers

Hi I just wondered if anyone can help me with this, I'm really confused by it all.

Here's the situation: I'm 25, I've been learning to drive for 5 months now. I want my boyfriend to teach me to drive inbetween lessons. I think I will need another 3 months.

My Boyfriend is 28, has been driving for around 8 years.
His car is a honda Civic - about 7 years old. He's on 3rd party cover.
I would rather not learn in his Civic if possible, I don't want to crash it! lol

How would I go about insuring my own car in the cheapest way. I am thinking of a 2000 reg ford KA, 1.2 litre.

Obviously the insurance is really expensive for someone who hasn't passed. Is there a way for me to change who I'm with/to a cheaper deal when I pass? If so what kind of things do I have to look out for?

Thanks!

Stef

    Try the

site , it usually works out cheaper, and you can pay a month at a time.
The car doesn't need any other insurance, but they only insure provisional drivers. They do give a full pro rata refund when you pass though, will no fees to cancel.
  • You think its expensive before you pass, Hope your sitting down when you phone to tell them you have passed
your test, The premium very often increases.

You are no longer supervised and could be a lunatic at the wheel.

All you can do is do online quotes, phone around and phone even more, And when your done, Try a few more..
