I've been a Barclays Premier customer for a while now and for the £17 p/m it costs I find the benefits it provides are good for me (appreciate not everybody would), but above that I get great service on the phone and in the branch, I can even queue jump in the branch with a wave of the old black debit card, not that i've ever had the ghoul to do it mind!
I was a Barclays Premier customer myself but find their service appalling. My debit card always gets blocked while I'm abroad even though if I tell them that I'm travelling, my credit card application has been lost three times, I hate carrying around their internet banking card reader and they have messed up my payments a few times.
Hope Co Op is better0 -
I switched from Coop to First Direct and wouldn't go back until Coop update themselves. So many differences between the two banks that it's hard to list them all. Here are the main ones. Coop has a lack of pre-paid envelopes, a terrible online system, bad customer service, slow to reply to emails, a complicated telephone service, a cumbersome card reader, and very few branches.0

I agree Barclays Premier service is VERY VERY POOR  They have no interest in you as a customer and when you consider just how much you are likely to put through their bank over the course of the year, it makes you wonder.
I just made a move to Lloyds TSB Private Banking - This is the best move I have made in years and should have done it earlier. Good luck with the Co-Op they are undoubtedly a far far better bank than Barclays.0 -
I switched from Natwest to the co-op in July and I couldn't be happier! I have the privilege account (£9.50 a month) and I really find it useful. The phone insurance alone is worth it to me (Blackberry user, and it covers my dad's too, which he is always dropping) and the free worldwide travel insurance is also great. I have a post office about 2 minutes from my house and it is no problem to go and withdraw cash or pay cheques in. The internet banking is simple but easy to use. Payments between banks go through within minutes online. I've had to phone them a couple of times but found them very helpful and no really long menus to sit through. Overall very happy with the service.Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20170
