Beware - Sainsbury's Energy - Online S@ver v6

I've just moved into a new house previously occupied by an 85 year old lady who was being ripped of by NPower on there std rate of at 13.19/kwh and 12.58p/kwh anyway this worked out at nearly £2500/annum so did the comparison and it came up with Sainsbury Online saver 6 at 8.274p/kwh which would save me £875, supplied by EDF.

YIPPEE applied and get all the paper work and it tells me they will take 4-6weeks, I was expecting it to be almost immediate as it has been previously. This is going to cost me £80-£120 any of the other cheap offers do the switch faster??

Comments

  • To be fair its pretty normal to take over 4 weeks to move to a new supplier this is usually made clear
  • Can you change your npower tariff in the meantime? Don't lock your self into anything though.

£2.5k a year leccy bill?

Get advice on how to reduce the consumption. That will save a lot more than switching supplier/tariff will achieve
(not implying you shouldn't switch as well)

Can you give an example of how you manged to get this to happen faster? Almost all suppliers have a 28 day notice rule so it usually takes at least 4 weeks..

Usually the only way it happens any faster is if its a retention, where you stay with the same supplier but move to a better tariff.
    Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently! ;)
