Hi
An unpaid parking ticket debt has been passed from the council
to bristow and sutor debt collection.
They have hand delivered 2 letters to my house asking for the money and threatening to take my car away!
And for this that have charged around £400
as the debt now totals around £500
How can they charge this for delivering 2 letters!
It's crazy!!
Is there anything I can do to get these charges dropped?!
It's robbery!
I have made a payment to the account of £50 to start with
but would love some advice as these charges are crazy!
Thanks!

You'll have no choice but to pay this in my experience. You could ask for a total break down of costs but I doubt it will get you anywhere.
My firm once hired me a car which got a ticket, unknown to me the ticket wasn't paid and somehow got "lost" in the system and they ended up paying around £400 for a £30 ticket.....
Sorry I couldn't be more help."We want the finest wines available to humanity, we want them here, and we want them now!"0 -

Yep, it can't hurt....these kind of people will add charges like cheap jam so you need to know what you're paying."We want the finest wines available to humanity, we want them here, and we want them now!"0

Link to info on bailiff advice online http://www.bailiffadviceonline.co.uk/removalnotice-pcn.htm
If they have hand delivered a letter, they can come back and take your car. There are set charges but I would seek urgent advice and look to paying the fine asap.0 -
I can't pay it all in one go.
can they still take my car if I offer to pay in installments?
And actually make a payment of some kind?Freebies received:

Hi
The information provided so far has been dodgy, because you have not told us enough to help you.
HAs the bailiff issued a levy on your car - this matters a lot as it dictates what can happen. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
What info would you like?
One of the letters put through the door said they would reposses my car if I didn't pay. Is that a levy?
I have paid £50 towards it and would like to pay in installments. I have contacted them to ask if I can do it this way but I'm still awaiting a reply.
I'm worried if they refuse to let me pay in installments they will take my car anyway. I simply cannot afford to pay it in one lump sum

Did you know about the parking fine
When did you get the fine
How much was it for
What letters have you got from the bailiff and when
Have you one that says warrant of execution?
Have you one that says attended today to remove?
If they don't say this what do they say?0 -
They don't usually take cars for such small debts. What would the car be worth at auction?:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

The parking fine was for £30.
I will dig the letters out and see what they say.
Car is worth about £2kFreebies received:
